Going back to Peter's post. I would hardly call Shaun Marsh and Peter Handscomb mediocre, especially bearing in mind the reputations they both came with.
I would be interested for you to name names as to who you feel would be a fit, and is available - we can all ask for a top quality batsman, a top quality bowler, but if one is not available, we may have to be more realistic.
With regards to Hodd - who exactly are we going to get of superior quality who would be willing to step aside when Jonny B is available to us?
As for Kolpaks, I was always supportive of the ones we had, but I think YCCC is a better state for not having them. Having seen Kolpaks adjectly fail for the likes of Leicester/ Glamorgan etc in the championship, I am not convinced it is the way to go. Plus after all I said about South Africa B...I mean Hampshire earlier this season I would have to decline.
I would not totally disagree with someone like Vaughan on the committee - I would suspect MPV himself may have prior media commitments.
I am going to defend Gale - let's not get down the football route of sacking managers as a cure all to bad form. Andrew is a young manager who has had to work with a reduced resource for a variety of reasons. Division 1 is a tough cookie, and underperforming cannot all be laid at his door.
As for the red ball specialists - only really I would say applies to Sidebottom. Brookes and Patto. Sidebottom has been injured, Brookes out of form and Patto has had to extend his duties to T20 this season as cover, not ideal, but nobody's fault.
Finally - why the Moxon hate? Marty Moxon is a first rate coach. Although only 2 titles to his name, he laid the foundation for our 2001 success in his first spell with Yorkshire. He then laid similar foundations for Durham's 2 crowns after he left them. Again, without Justin Langer riding in over Kirkstall hill on a white charger to the rescue - who are we going to get in that position better than Martyn?
Hope you appreciate the counterpoint - not a 'moron' in sight methinks....
