Good news is we've surpassed our first innings total and now the deficit is down to double figures.

Strange morning, almost a hundred runs in the session for the loss of only two wickets. Usually a good start to the day but it's still not on the level of heroics we need if there's any chance of us saving this match.

Lancashire are still holding up their end so things are looking a little bit better than they were last night.

I was at the ground on Monday morning & was pleased that we'd won the toss & would be batting.
Even the loss of Lyth early was not too worrying since it was exactly the same vs Durham but I don't think anyone believed that Somerset would bowl as well as they did nor that we would bat as badly.
The final blow was the dismissal of Lehmann to an horrendous shot on the stroke of lunch.
lees and Ballance went before Adam lyth on the first morning .

Boy is that OT game a slow one. I know they have had a couple of bad light/weather interruptions, but 20 minutes into the afternoon session on day 3 and only 500 runs scored.

Best we can hope for is that Lancs salvage a draw from their game as we're not making much of a fist of saving ours

The proverbial fat lady is singing on our match now. Let's at least not lose by an innings though!

I very rarely say this but come on Lancashire!

Well look at it this way. We were hoping/praying for a draw against all logic. Lancs are in a marginally better position to us in their innings (one less wicket down) AND they have a whole second innings to bat yet!
