Predict the 2 changes from Edgbaston will be Leaning and Sidebottom out with Root and Willey coming in.
Agree that Root being made captain if Gale not in the side for whatever reason would be a mistake. Although giving it to Lees at his age and lack of form would not be fair. Think Gale will play so doubt we will have that problem.

The train disruption at Sheffield has inconvinaiced me a little on Sunday so sampling the delights of National Express. May be there on Monday as well depending on the forecast and the state of the game.
Looking forward to Sunday as Trent Bridge is after Scarborough my favourite cricket ground.

Trent Bridge is my favourite big ground, too....but if we get weather like last week, is there anywhere to shelter and watch from indoors? The pavilion is small.

There's sleet coming down (in Manchester) as I type this. Yesterday was horrendous.

the forecast is getting better all the time, even getting to 13 or 14 degrees on monday and tuesday. there is some cover, the new stand to the left of the pavilion has a roof. and the big viewing area opposite the pavilion has restaurants /cafes etc but i ca,nt remember if you can watch the game from there.

Squad announced - Root and Wainman come in to the squad for Leaning and Sidebottom. I think we can safely assume Willey will make his debut.

Well by leaving out Leaning and Rhodes really puts the pressure on Gale and maybe Lees to score significant runs in this match. Not sure whether/which England squad players will be available for the next week against Surrey? However, looks a pretty good 11 and lets hope for decent weather and champion performance. Will be in York this weekend for family christening but not likely to see any cricket

You feel for Leaning having made a score in the last game but I guess there weren't any obvious options for opener had Lees been left out.
