has brightened up considerably - pretty slow progress from Durham this morning so it has actually worked out OK for us - we have got to the new ball relatively quickly and assume now light enough for it to be taken

Well we have monsoon conditions near Dundee 😟
"Apparently Somerset will not be ducked points for using a worn wicket on which 38 wickets have fallen in 2 days & on which only one batsman has been able to make a 50 & he was dropped on 9 or so.
Incredible!
All down to bad batting, nothing to do with a bad pitch!"

I agree but it doesn't really strengthen the case for the prosecution when the prosecution witness (Dougie Brown) says the pitch wasn't really to blame for the wickets!

BBC report we are without Patto for 'personal reasons'. Anyone verify this?

Yay, 6 down as I write! New ball doing the job.

Will Patto's absence influence us on the follow-on, which looks likely.

Six down.
Can i just say how much i appreciate the little private game of hiding Joy Division songs within posts.
It makes me smile every time.
I bet there s a cracking atmosphere at Headingley this morning.

Sounds like the new ball doing the trick at Headingley this morning so far.

YCCC Twitter feed confirmed Patterson is missing today due to personal reasons. Must be something serious, hope everything works out ok for him.

A new dawn fades and I'm feeling pretty optimistic about retaining the title once again!
Great stuff from our opening bowlers - who needs a new ball, but good we have it 😀 Sad to hear about Patto - must be serious.

I think we have to enforce follow on this time even though bowlers may be more tired and Patto missing.

Wickets should refresh them and good rest last night.

There's a long winter ahead for them to recover.

I suspect if he only has three available seamers he'll choose NOT to enforce the follow on..
Rightly or wrongly - i'm not sure.

With a bowler missing we'd be mad to enforce the follow on.
