Brilliant progress from Alex and Gary, giving Rushworth his comeuppance. Of course there have been some on here who have been clutching at the straw that if we get bowled out cheaply or for less than three hundred, we usually go on to win. Well, I want us to grab maximum batting points, as a failure to collect maximum batting bonus points in recent weeks may come back to haunt us.

Moores isn't replacing Newell, he's remaining as Director of Cricket while Moores moves from Coaching Consultant to Head Coach. Does seem odd to effectively rubber stamp a system which appears to be failing.

I imagine that the Moores/Newell arrangement is effectively rubber stamping what is already happening in practice

I wonder if we should declare on 275 or 280 since we never seem to win matches anymore when we amass a much bigger score. (No I'm not being serious, but one or two others on here seem to reckon we are at our most lethal when we score less than three hundred. Silly talk.) Let's get as many runs as possible and then take twenty wickets.

Good effort from Balance. Come on champions. Let's not let them off the hook now.

Fine partnership, pity Ballance did not get a ton but has laid good foundation. Delighted for Alex Lees.

Another captain's innings from Gale - a quick seventeen.....par for the course from him nowadays. A spent force, I'm afraid.
