This match doesn't need buffet bowling. Middlesex are naturally on course to set us a one session target.
Yes think Middlesex will aim to bat out the next session at a good rate and set us around 250 in last 36 overs or thereabouts.
Key will be for us not to lose early wickets.

Ballance bowled in the dying overs of a match. Not sure it's quite the same thing here
Not a very good wicket for scoring quickly on. Very low and slow. With all the best intentions in the world, even if we swing at every ball and go for it right to the end, it could still end up in a draw.

Not easy to score at 4 an over, so 10 an over will be nigh on impossible, bearing in mind defensive bowling, everyone on the boundary, no limits on field placings, or number of overs each bowler can bowl. Even so, we have to go for it, as personally I would prefer Middlesex to win the title, if we don`t, than Somerset, with their dodgy wickets and no points deductions.

Yes 10 per over would be silly. Needs to be around 7-7.5 to keep us interested throughout.

Won't be like usual t20 of trying to stem runs though, Middlesex will bowl attackingly so run score opportunities will be there.

it is very plain to see that Middlesex won't give the game away there is only one team going to risk the game and if it ends in a draw Middlesex while blame Yorkshire not for going for it we will see .

if they set us 9 or 10 an over we should refuse to chase it, and make sure franklin knows that now.

odds have changed dramatically this morning

yorks was 4/6 now 9/4
somerset now evens
middx 7/2

i really do not want to hand this to a negative middx side giving us a 9 an over target when they cannot even muster 3 an over

Oh, the penny's dropped...

Middlesex are going for the draw because they know at the end of the game the ECB are going to dock Somerset a convenient number of points for their dodgy pitches so that they still win the title.

It's oh so obvious really.

Just arrived in Spain for week and have seen lunch score - must have been frustrating morning session and now looks certain draw. Somerset must be good bet at evens as I cannot see Middlesex setting an achievable target - they will have been the cause of them not winning the title because of over cautious batting the whole match. However, cricket can be unpredictable!
