Sorry Martin, but you are wrong, it is in middlesex interest for us to still be in with a shout of winning the title and that means we need these bonus points.

If we are not in with a shout in our second innings, do you really think we will chase a difficult target?

thats gubbins finally out now, so an extra bonus point, but we need another and then to get to 350, if we do not do that we cannot win the title....so are under no obligation to risk the defeat that middlesex need to win the title themselves.
A very good mornings work, now we need our batsmen to come good and get 350+ to give us really good chance of the title.

Straight forward now. We have to get 350 off 110 overs and win assuming Somerset get all 3 bowling bonus points and also win.

The Sky guys still do not get it and still banging on about us picking 5 seamers and this weakening the batting. It is not deliberate, a plan, a tactic, or a ploy, it was forced upon us by having Lehmann, Bairstow & Root being unavailable. No other sensible options available.

Hope Willey gets a 100 now, as, with hindsight, Plunkett would appear to have been the better choice. Willey has had a shocker so far.
An excellent morning's work and giving us a great chance of winning the title if our batsmen can get us beyond 350. Should be a fascinating afternoon.

Wonder if Billy R would solve our middle order issue?

While losing overs yesterday wasn't ideal, being behind the Somerset match gives us a bit of foresight. If they don't get the full bowling bonus points we'll know that we don't need to get to 350 within the 110 overs.

Lees poor footwork lets him down again, neither forward or back, nor playing straight. And a nothing prod from Ballance - very disappointing and now for Gale - can he play captains innings? Nearly first ball Second ball - rubbish shot. Awful batting again.

Well that took about as long as anyone might have expected. Gale out second ball.

Words fail.

3 ducks from the top 4. Not the application, determination effort or commitment required.

The bowlers must be sick of seeing this game after game.
