True. Would have been much easier getting 8 runs from 11 balls last week.

but then what do i know?
Equally, Somerset messed up last week by not getting the 5th batting point. It was there for the taking and one or two injudicious shots rather than batting sensibly meant that they didn't manage to get the points.

Long way to go yet. A couple of wickets and the picture changes for Somerset.

The comparison between their game and ours is interesting - Middlesex have not got away from us. Yes we could do with a wicket or two sooner rather than later but at 151/4 off 56 overs as I write, add a couple of wickets and suddenly we are on top.

Indeed, Peter, who would have thought it was worth stretching for another batting point in a couple of games....(facepalm)

I'm surprised Peter's mentioned the lost batting point.....................................................so late in the day.

Well done Bressie

Yet another drop at slip. Ballance.

Our best three slip catchers are Lyth, Lees and Brenan Bresnan with the missing Lehmann and Leaning next best, but surely not Ballsnce in there?! We need to pouch every chance to win this match and they surely will not drop many when we are batting. Unless we get more wickets before tea, the title will be slipping away with our flimsy top order - unless our top 3 score really big.

Come on! We are in a very good position going in to tea. Forget about dropped catches - nothing we can do about that. But we have every chance of finishing the day on top.

I would say its about evens at the moment.
Those 3 dropped catches are frustrating though.

This match is like a cup final. Everything must stick when chances come our way. Too many dropped catches. It's a metaphor for dropping the silverware too.
