Starting at 1.35. Brighter but rain in the air.

Sidebottom strikes to get rid of Smith 8-1 (2.1 overs).

yeah, but it really does not matter now.

we batted way too long, has to be a draw now. maybe only 1 hour left in this game.

so even if they declared at 12 as you wanted it still wouldnt have mattered.

Weather forecasting is not an exact science. First we are told the rain comes at four then at 2pm it could come within the hour. Bit difficult to criticise the timing of the declaration in those circumstances.

I'm surprised that Hampshire are being so negative - its a very achievable target and for all we know it might not rain again....

sure its not an exact science, but its pretty good. all forecasts are for rain after 3, maybe it will hold off till 4, but no later. just as sure as we know it will be dark at 10 tonight, so we know it will rain after 4.

but you are right, no way could we have engineered a win today. lost too much time yesterday

Hants just blocking now (13runs off the last 10 overs) and playing for the draw. Pity really, as we have more chance of winning if they go for it. Just hope that Warwicks don`t get back on and win, or the Championship could well be down the pan!!

I think we can safely say that Hampshire are not the slightest bit interested in chasing - required rate now ABOVE five an over.
