Rain about 20 minutes away according to the rain radar, but looks like a shower so may get back on after lunch.
Listening on line. Both chaps from Hampshire really are very good. Cally is just hopeless, although thankfully he's off a lot doing his local radio updates.

Batting sounds awkward and over rate slow - 16 in almost 75 minutes.

Cowley seemingly keen to get off - waving his light meter around.

Floodlights on and mention of rain in the local area - doesn't sound great.

Think we're still looking at a few overs pre lunch - declare around 12:30pm? Apparently rain due in 5 mins!

In that case we bat till it rains, then declare, no point declaring, losing two overs, coming back on for 1 over, then going off again.

If it rains soon and an early lunch taken, do NOT declare....keep the Hants openers on tenterhooks throughout lunch interval.

Our game is going nowhere - not declaring but not pushing scoring quickly enough. Rain seems inevitable in afternoon. 20 runs in 5 overs then we declare!?

Declared 298 in 72. Advantageous although weather likely to intervene.

Covers on the pitch but not the run ups. Assuming play before lunch - could be 3/ 4 overs.

Update: Apparently rain getting heavier, unlikely to restart.

Early lunch?

I think, things are not as flexible on the last day. Early lunches and teas are out and no extra time for overs lost, etc.

A gap in the rain clouds shortly, then another big one on its way.

I think we played it just about right this morning..
Rain will win in the end I fear - but you never know.
If we get three or four quick wickets it might still be exciting.
I don't think the title will be won - or lost - today.

losing overs is totally irrelevant today. The game will end at around 4pm no matter how many overs have or have not been bowled.

batted on way too long, now only 1 session, maybe 30 overs to win the game....watch us get hants at something like 80-6 and then you can see why it was sheer folly going on past 12 this morning.

Life must be so frustrating when you're always right and everyone else is always wrong. Exhausting.
