Another high scoring pitch to entertain the crowd with very short boundaries I read.

Interesting to see if Plunkett gets the nod over Rashid.

He did.
It means he has the pleasure of bowling at Kohli...

I'm sure he would have got him, but he never had the chance.

It's gone very quiet.

Not quiet now. Plunkett close to bringing up his ton, he's all over the shop.

Yorkshire and the last over, eh?

Can Plunkett redeem himself with the bat?

Another high scoring game with the bowlers taking a hammering. If someone can make the case for Plunkett or to a lesser extent Ball over Broad then I'd love to hear it. His absence from the one day team baffles me. That and a high class spinner is really costing us.
From an England point of view with the bat, Morgan showed his class with a brilliant hundred under pressure, there was a lot of silly talk with people questioning his place but his class, yet again, shows through.
Shame Root didn't convert his 50 into three figures, in the last 6 games v India he's got to 50 but not converted one of those.

Nothing much to chose between the seamers on either side in this game but the big difference was Jadeja and (in this game) Ashwin.

Surprised England got so close, never had any confidence they would do it, as soon as Hales was out.

We needed a Hales/Roy special flying start and a significant contribution from Root, Stokes or Buttler in order to chase such a massive total.

Morgan was good with a bat in his hand, but not sure he was too smart in marshaling his bowling attack.

Not a great deal in it but India are just that bit better in all departments.

Was only following on cricinfo but it looked like one of those games where the final scoreboard doesn't really tell the story. Reality is that we were never really in it - even though we got quite close.

For me, the problem isn't really our batting - any side that scores 350+ is by definition doing well in that department. Problem was too many runs to chase. India bowled better as a unit than we did - meaning that run scoring was a bit harder for us
