Foremark weekly report week ending 18th March
Telephone Number: 01283 703202
Its never fails to surprise me how quickly our sport can alter with a slight change in temperature, pressure or wind direction all that’s required. Monday was bitterly cold, few rod out enjoying mix fortunes our daily rod average was 1.75 Tuesday being a bit warmer and our rod averaged for the day jumped to 5.5 with some anglers getting into double figures. Bank continued to fish best especially flamingo bay with anglers here catching on buzzers. Wednesday and flamingo bay continued to fish P Franck caught 13 on buzzers, M Julian caught 21 & R Julian caught 11 with damsel on the point and buzzer on the dropper. Thursday and a southerly wind had anglers fishing flamingo bay again with buzzer, hares ears and cats whiskers helping to push the daily rod average to 7.6 Friday and the southerly wind remained again flamingo bay fished best with bank anglers enjoying the best of the sport
Saturday and the cold snap had returned, bitterly cold conditions met the 15 members of Coppenhall Fly Fishers who cut their bank competition short finishing at 3pm due to snow, cold strong winds which blew from the North East giving little or no shelter in the weeks hot spot, flamingo bay. Tough match with only 13 fish coming to the scales the winner Alan Cragg with 3 fish 5lb14oz, second James Foster 3 fish 5lb5oz with M Laycock 3rd with 2 fish 4lb6oz
Winner of this weeks free boat draw: Sam West, Bucks
