It had been a long plane ride back from Japan, and Vi had had more than a few drinks, it wasn't all that often she allowed herself the chance to party. She'd been in Tokyo for the past four months, and Beijing before that for two, helping to get slayer headquarters set up over there.

She gulps down the last few inches of the scotch she'd bought with her fake id and stood up as the plane's captain announced that the passengers could disembark and thanked them for flying Oceanic Airlines. She grabbed her carry-on bag from the overhead and falls in line with the other first class passengers.

Making her way down the passageway to the terminal she steps out and her eyes quickly scan the expanse of the 'receiving' area, hoping that Willow hadn't forgotten that today was the day Vi was returning to Sunnydale. The redhead, not seeing her friend among the crowds, moves out of the way so more people could get out of the unloading corridor.

She makes her way over to one of the rows of seats, and drops down on to the hard plastic chair with a slight grunt due to her low levels of drunkeness from her return flight. She was never comfortable around this many people, drunk or sober, and hopes that the witch shows up soon so she could get out of here.

About ten minutes passed before Vi caught sight of her friend, fellow redhead and Sunnydale survivor Willow Rosenberg making her way towards where she was sitting on the bench seat. As the witch pushed through the crowded terminal, Vi grabbed up her small carry-on bag and stood, before starting toward the wiccan with intent to meet her halfway.

'Hey Vi, welcome back.' She hears the witch greet with a wave, and just happy to see a familiar face after nearly sixteen hours on the plane, Vi barely hesitates as she drops her bag to the floor at her side and move up close to Willow and wraps the few-years-older woman in a tight hug. Vi is careful not to put too much strength behind her embrace, not wanting to hurt her friend, and only holds on for a couple seconds before releasing the other redhead.

"Good to see you too Willow." The now-eighteen year old greets back with a wide smile, having missed the witch and the others that had gathered back in Sunnydale since it's mysterious return, while Vi was stuck in Japan with a couple of the slayers found following the final confrontation with the First Evil almost a year prior, helping to set up a small base of operations for the new council there.

Vi gives an eager nod as Willow suggested they get on the road, both of them knowing full well that it would take a few hours for the drive out to Sunnydale. At least for Vi, it would be less stressful for this trip as there was no one actively looking to kill her this time around.

"Yeah, sounds good." She agrees with a smile. "I'm having the rest of my stuff mailed back so we won't have to wait at baggage claim." She adds as she steps back and crouches down for a moment to grab her carry-on bag back up.

"Lead on MacDuff." She quotes with a goofy grin, immensely happy for more reasons than one to be back stateside.

Vi gave another smile to the older redhead as the slayer fell into step beside the witch, her carry-on bag hanging from her left hand at her side. Not having any notion as to what parking lot Willow would have used to store her vehicle to pick her, up, Vi does little more than follow Willow's lead, which was perfectly fine by her.

Without the added burden of being held up in having to wait at baggage claim, the walk out of the airport terminal goes by quicker than even Vi had expected, although she's sure to curb her speed of walking shortly thereafter, not wanting to impose the need for her friend to keep pace with her.

"Japan was beautiful," Vi remarks with a grin in response to the Red Witch's question as they came upon the car. "You should come with me for a visit when I head back next year. As for the council, it's getting there, slowly but all the same with the improvements you, Buffy and Giles suggested."

She goes silent for a moment as she pulls the trunk lid up and open to shove her bag inside, before taking a brief look around the mostly empty lot. Vi quickly transfers a dagger in a sheath from the inside to up her sleeve before closing the trunk, then heads around to get in the passenger seat. As Willow backs out of the spot, the slayer quickly secures the sheath to her ankle and covers it with the leg of her pants. She moves slow enough that Willow would see and partially as she doesn't want them to think she was trying to be deceptive with her carrying of weapons so casually and not just for night patrols anymore.

She has her reasons for such, though is kind of hoping that her friend doesn't start asking questions about it, as it was not much something Vi wanted to speak about.

"So, Sunnydale... Still as hellish as before?" She asks as Willow drives out of the cover of the garage and onto the streets of Los Angeles, hoping to change the subject before it even gets started.

Vi nodded with an eager smile as Willow promised to visit her after she was scheduled to return to Japan in about eight months. In the meantime, they'd have plenty of time to catch up as Vi re-found herself a place in Sunnydale. The younger redhead couldn't wait for that day, wanting to show her friend all the amazing sights over there, vastly different to anything she'd experienced in the States, and she was sure that aside from that rehab in England she'd once overheard the witch mention in passing, she didn't think her friend had done much travelling.

"Yeah, thank the PTB for small mercies." Vi quips with a smile as Willow comments on the lack of having to deal with vampires for the moment with the sun out, and settles back in her seat as she finishes securing her knife. She listens to Will give a run-down of the happenings in Sunnydale, glad over the fact that the Turok-Han were seemingly a dead issue, no pun intended, but her eyes go wide at the mention of Gods roaming around the Dale now. "Damn, that town just can't catch a break."

She wants to ask more questions but is suddenly overcome with heavy fatigue and rests her head against the back of the seat, and without even realizing it, the slayer falls asleep as they continue on.

Vi is rudely awoken much later when Willow slams on the brakes, and shoots up in her reclined seat, eyes darting wildly for a moment as she begins panicking, then reels herself in as she remembers she's not on the plane anymore. She doesn't have much time to adjust to the situation before a fist smashed through the passenger window, and she sees stars as pain explodes in the side of her face from the vampire's punch.

"Owwww! God damn you!" She cries out in pain as the vampire grips her by the hair and back of her neck to pull her bodily out of the window. She attempts to flail free but isn't able to get much manuevering room until her feet are on the ground, and she finds herself suddenly wrapped in a bearhug by the one that dragged her out.

The second growls hungrily as it starts toward her, and in a desperate move, she stamps down with her left sneaker, ejecting the wooden chopstick hidden on the bottom, and with a snap kick, drives the tip into the underside of the second vampire's mouth before twisting her foot to snap it off.

"You stupid bastards messed with the wrong redheads!" She snarls and delivers a vicious headbutt to the vamp holding her from behind.
