Great shots Kate! Wow. Someone really robbed the heck out of that granary huh. Is there anything left of it going west from where it peters out? Or is it a goner?

Am I right that it's usually the south side of a granary that would have had the door and the portico and the access ramp? Or did that vary?

Nah,

The access is on the northern side, so we have not got to the main door yet, more to follow. ...

End of the week and here is our flag floor. You can see there is a local collapse. One of the stones that had been used to infill the depression in the flag floor is shown next.

The granary wall should be on the right by that small patch of green, but that whole corner has gone. At the other side of the trench, near those large flagstones is a circular structure that looks a bit like a well.

This is a view of the small edge (with a foot added for scale).

The thinking is that it is a stone from an arch. There seems to be a suggestion of a pattern on this 'inside' surface.

Assuming it is a stone from an arch, using a rough measurement of this 'inside' surface, the pictures, a pencil and a protractor, we have come up with an estimate for the inside diameter of the arch and hence width of entrance as 2.3m.

I don't know if this would fit for known entrances

Just another week2 shot. This is the aforementioned circular feature behind the granary.

The circular feature looks similar to the "Well" I helped excavate in Dorset last summer. Attached picture is just before we dug down
