Catching tiny tidbits of intact Severan roundhouses, Legionary stamps, etc. All sounds great. Anyone on site able to fill in the details of the week??

A great deal of hard work taken place in week 7. Most of the team has been involved with the removal of the 3rd century street surface on temple Ave. It has been a very tough week with the weather as well, very tough with lots of rain and high winds. However the gang have stuck to it and have done really well, another week and it should be job done. From then on we start to properly lower some sections below the Antonine foundations.

fingers crossed.

As we bid a fond farewell to the 3rd/4th century Temple Avenue now being trundled up the ramp to the spoils heap, a final image.

Here we have our very own Kevin Kerr coquettishly showing off the form that gained him the unofficial title of "Mr. Haltwhistle". And Pete looking on in what appears to be mild concern!

End of week 7, never thought I'd spend the week transporting a roman road to the spoil heap ... talk about built to last! those romans could teach McAlpine a thing or too.
Hard work but a fantastic week, the extra entertainment provided by the one and only Kevin couldn't be bettered, thanks Kev, keep up the airobics.
Will be on the laptop 1st Nov to put in our bid for next year so hope to meet another great crew then

Polly & Allison ;)
