Digging is done on day two of the final week of the 2012 season, any news about what's happening on site?

After yesterdays terrible weather I guess there may have been some bailing out to be done? Sunny we await your report or e mail me & I'll post if you have photos. Can't believe the season is nearly over.

Oh hellooooo :D

Yesterday was nowhere near as terrible as the weather map would have you believe and we didn't lose any of the day at all. Today was idyllic digging weather; sun, a light breeze, lovely.

I'm in the Twicey, hiding from the quiz (which ha sreturned to Tuesdays), having just returned from an excellent talk on the human remains from Vindolanda, given by none other than Dr Trudie Buck.

I've been going round getting some pics together and I'll post some in a bit, once the Twicey wifi stops playing silly beggers. I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you and I'll post pics asap.

Don't mention who suggested it, but I've found a surreptitious reset of their router can work wonders. :$

Just go to the back corner of the back room and you'll see the router up on a small shelf. Turn the switch off at the main plug into the wall for 10 seconds and then back on, and I would predict that in about a minute or three the ether will be swimming through the internets again...

Looking forward to seeing the piccies.

Hi folks, some great photos from mooseandhobbes

"We had a lovely start to today and beautiful sunshine up until about 2pm, when the heavens opened with a vengeance and Andy sent us all for an early bath. Ironically, the sun came out again a bit later, but by then the damage was done as some of the trenches were already a bit of a mud-bath and the rain just made them untenable. We're hoping to make up some of the time tomorrow and I have high hopes for a great day"

"Our home once we'd been at work for a little while. There were only a few finds out of here, mainly animal bone (including a stag's jaw) and a few bits of pot, but we were really looking for the bottom of the ditch."

"I'm afraid that Badger's tree stump has gone, where it once was is now under a load of spoil."

Sarcanon's Wall, I understand that Sarc's wall may have carried an earlier viaduct than the one that you can see in the picture, but I don't know how certain this is.

Great pix Sunny.
No guesses on the knees. Not even on the era of their owner!

Those knees belong to Anthea. I would know them anywhere.

Huh. If you had shown me her Boston Red Sox cap that would have been easier.
I know rank speculation is discouraged, but if Sarcanon's Wall carried an aqueduct it would seem to have been a larger one. What, did the Romans invent water and energy saving bathhouse appliances? ;)
