Hi

I worked on Vindolanda for two weeks in the summer of 2010 and it's sort of inspired me to do a piece of coursework with regards to the development of the vicus alongside the fort.

I was just wondering if anyone could direct me to any publications/ reports/ whatever which may be useful to me?

And are there any restrictions to the use of the reports that have already been published on this forum?

With thanks

Most of the reports & papers you'll find here at WeDig are still copyright-protected by the original author/publisher. Where there's a current copyright-owner, I've identified them in the post/page so folks can get in touch if they want to reuse the material.

Good luck on the project!

Hi Vix
Here are a few books you might find useful:

"Vindolanda - a Roman Frontier Fort on Hadrian's Wall" Author Robin Birley
Published Amberley 2009
ISBN 9781848682108
Follows the whole site through its many phases of occupation and use.

"Vindolanda Excavations 2003 - 2004"
Authors Andrew Birley and Justin Blake
Published Vindolanda Trust 2005
ISBN 1873136870

"Vindolanda Excavations 2005 - 2006"
Authors Andrew Birley and Justin Blake
Published Vindolanda Trust 2007
ISBN 1873136196

"Vindolanda Research Reports, New Series - Vol VII - The Third Century Vicus"
Published by Vindolanda Trust but now out of print and hard to track down.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your report.

Helen
