Hi all! We're in the usual mid-season WeDig lull. Who's on site this next couple of weeks that can snap us out of it? Let's see the hilarity, hijinx -- oh, and archaeology! -- happening in the trenches.

Not strictly from session 8, but there's an excellent new video blog post by Andy on the wattle & daub structures that date to 105-120 AD, in the vicus outside the timber fort of that period. Well worth a look.

Is it true that another writing tablet was found in the round wattle and daub hut?!

Charlie:

If you watch the latest video blog entry from Andy, you'll hear it straight from the horse's mouth.

Just got back from Northumberland - I would think everyone's too exhausted to post after heavy work in high 20's and topping 30 deg. I can't believe it's only 3 months since I was last on site digging in snow and hail.

Andy's updates on blog pretty much say it all - especially with Justin,s twitter. I have a couple of photos but nothing as good as theirs.
