The "relic of Brian" is now safely installed in the diggers hut for future excavators to marvel at or possibly throw darts at! Attached photo shows its stately progression onto site.

Not the best of days weatherise yesterday but there wasn't much time lost to rain, currently its a glorious looking day out there but change may be on its way?
The search for the intervallum road continues

Beautifully cleaned wall running north south

A day of mixed wether, sun in the morning followed by a rummage for wooly hats in the afternoon but not a moment lost to rain. The large late roman building seems to be getting larger by the day! Perhaps session 4 will find the missing wall?
The intervallum road causes much pre lunch speculation

The deturfing and search for flags continues in the morning sun

The view from the spoil heap

And finally the 360 photo link
Vindolnda 360 photograph

One more day left, session 4 diggers don't forget your cameras

Guys,
There doen't seem to be any mention of team photos this year.
Is Andy still taking group shots on the final Friday? Is there any chance of posting them?

The official photo is taken each session. In a bit of a new twist a nice print is available for diggers to purchase.

A few more views from the trench at Detritus

And alas, many of us come to our final days on the Vindolanda site for this season.... whether the weather is distempered at our departure or is celebrating her freedom of us is a question that I can imagine many have asked over the years, without any real answer in sight.
I will miss the people of Period 3 whom I have had the utmost pleasure digging with.

Badger, catching up now on your Detritus of Empire daily reports. Really neat! Everyone should have a read.

We are really enjoying watching the new areas unfold since we found the beginnings of the amazingly long wall in session 2.
We hope to visit in a month or so to see the progress. Thanks to all who put up pictures, and Andy and Justin for the blog, it really helps us to keep in touch.

Yes - a big thank you to Badger & Snowglobe for all the great pictures this session - and I second the thanks to Andy & Justin for the blog - it's a great help to our understanding of what may be emerging.
