Searching for any remaining east wall, unfortunately looks as though it’s all been robbed away, excavating the drain that continues below the wall. 16th June

Great pics. And wow, still just some extraordinary archaeology. I love seeing the very different architecture from the west and east granaries, obvious even with all the robbing.

And what is that I keep seeing... that weird blue in the sky... and shadows... and dry soil!

Those photos are amazing - I can't believe how much progress has been made since the blizzard conditions of week one!
Can't wait for the summer holiday when Jo and I intend to come andl have a proper look.

Road through the west gatehouse reopened during a "twilight shift" on 23rd June. I missed the opening ceremony. Photo 30th June.
