I ran across THIS recently and immediately thought of our Amphora Scholar Kate and our Queen of Sherds Malise!

Monte Testaccio is my idea of amphora heaven! More seriously, as a source of dated material to compare our Vindolanda amphorae to, the evidence of Monte Testaccio is incredibly valuable. The students who go there to study will have a fantastic learning experience.

At least they'll have the sunshine - this is currently the view I have at home. Just getting the thermals out ready for the start of the digging season! Also trying out posting an image so I can keep folks informed when I'm there in period 2 - only 3 weeks.... Hoping it's less snowy in Northumberland for all you hardy souls starting next Monday.
Let me know if it works please folks.

Keep warm

Photo posted just fine, looks like the trust may need to send a snowplough for you. Any one having issues posting then they can post to the Email I used for roll call and I'll post from there.

Fiona

At least your pic is scenic! Here is a grim view from the Province of "Occidentia" last week: ICK

You seem to have the photo posting figured out, but if you prefer to have the image posted such that it appears without having to open a link, this is possible...

Be warm.

Looks just as cold with you Badger - How does one post without need for link? or do I just send to Snowglobe email as you suggested Pete?

If I understand correctly, and with technology one must not be too sure, you need to use the Image button atop the box in which you type posts. It will ask you for a URL, which makes sense if you are one of the folks who saves photos to an online place like Cloud, Picassa, etc. If so you just cut and paste the link. Keep in mind that most photos from the usual digital camera are 2 to 3 megs of data and that makes an unwieldy image. It is better if you can resize it to around 300 kilobytes or so.

If this exceeds your technical level just email it to Snowglobe.

The link system should work fine, to help out Harry and Badger with the admin of the site I can add the photos so they appear within the post but this is limited to the 3 of us, most of the back office stuff is a mystery but I can do the photo stuff. Sunny sometimes sends me photos as its easier than doing links to Wedig from a mobile or smartphone.

I seem to recall some discussion on WeDig about how to crop/resize images, with instructions for those using either a Mac or a PC, but can't seem to find it. Might be useful to put a link to that here if anyone knows where that is?

Think I've got it! Thanks for advice folks. I think easiest way to resize Justin is Paint and save as GIF - I can't figure the URL out so I'll just attach images.
If I have got it right - you should be looking at a Milecastle on a sunny day in May 2010.

Cheers
Fiona
