USS Gerald R. Ford breaks spending cap

Congress put a limit of $12.9 billion on USS Ford, but the Navy admitted that the costs are now over $13 billion including repairs to the propulsion machinery after a January incident.

Well, not good but we've committed ourselves to the new tech on this boat so we will have to bite the bullet on this and spend what it takes to at least get her out to sea trials.  My understanding is if the EMALS cannot be made work to specification it would be almost impossible to take it out and put a regular steam cat system in place.  That's my biggest fear,  that we can't correct this mistake, if it proves to be one.
