I found two interesting things when killing time on Ebay :
1st. I'd call it good : The NOS Timex Acqua handwind (brand new in box)

2nd. I'd call it bad : The Timex "Military" quartz

While ago when I just ordered this one I had a positive post about it 'cause the pic looks great on screen: http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/mes ... 1054124040 However Dan has the same one and disappointed of the watch quality: http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/mes ... 1054162016 Well,he's right n' I returned it the day after opened the box. This watch's really small n' too delicate to be called "military style". I would'n mind the dimension very much if it's really was the popular watch size in the past. The plastic case..hmm,I have a plastic Swatch thick n' tough as steel not soft, thin like this poor made Timex. The crystal is one more thing adds up for this cheapy, it's not any kind of glass or acrylic but simply...plastic
Later I've seen it sold in Kmart around 16 bucks, but this Ebay guy has it with the starting bid : $ 32.99 ! Better yet with the "buy it now": $ 34.99 !!!
Wish no one's hooked

The handwind is much larger, green plastic one piece case, and fixed lugs

How does the mechanical run? What did you pay for it? I have my eye on one at a local watch store but haven't put in a bid yet.

I've seen a few of the handwinds go for $50 + on ebay, that is, when someone happens to be selling theirs.

It keeps time within a minute a day.

Here's a couple of my military and military look Bulova's

And of course, since this is the Timex forum

I got mine yesterday for $10 retail. No band, but it is mint except for a very faint scratch on the crystal. It's keeping good time. I'm not sure if I bought it for a keeper or re-sell - I heard the price and scooped it up. I guess I'll sort through my motives after I fondle it (and wear it) for a while. It is a very cool watch.
