Background...

I bought this 1675 as part of a Package deal

Movement is correct
Caseback is good
Dial is refinished
Hands are aftermarket

My thoughts are that it is a replacement case re-engraved with the old serial number at the RSC.

What do you guys think?

This may just be a weird few seconds in history...because I have a 1600...with very similar engravings....

Check this out.

No registered design no stainless steel...

447,xxx cases apart.

Looks very Similar...

I Searched For another case that showed the same characteristics but could not find any examples

I own these 2 as well

If Rolex knew all of the stress they would cause us "Collectors" 40-50 yearsDown the road...

it seems like this watch may have been used with a leather strap. Remnants of words seem to be above that serial number. If you took your best camera and set the A(perture) to a slower setting... tipping it this way and that (the watch, not the camera) you might capture stronger remnants.

I only say this because I've done that with one watch. In my case, the serial number seemed to be gone... it took about 50 pictures (not kidding) until I finally capture the complete serial number.

I'm having trouble getting the images to split up I'm not doing major edits!! honest.

Trying this again... okay - it works. Tommy, with yours it may just have worn off over the past 50 years. The first one though, Adams... not so sure. Looks too crisp.
