upon reflection its simple ...short blonds, cars with engines at the wrong end , and watches with a story to tell .......ok so the odd steak and a few beers too , but lets stay simple.....

a good friend was kind enough to let me have this a few weeks ago , I've worn it every day since and as a dealer I've been in a right old pickle as to sell or not ....but it seems to be welded to my arm so its staying put ....

a 1665 sea-dweller.....

nothing special at first glance ....ok so papers make it a bit more interesting ....but read the papers ...FIC west store...falkland island west store, i'd heard tell that Rolex could be bought special order but never seen one .. ...november 1981 .....

.

with a bit more research ..one of several sold to marines garrisoning the Falklands island just before the outbreak of war .....sold to one marine specialist commando Church ( as per papers and recent purchase )......and the newspaper reports accompanying the watch ....Nice fella by all accounts ..new how to jerry rig mines on a beach in a tough spot !!!

Us brits specialise in unglamorous small wars , but this is a good read for the realities of the Falklands war and its build up and the story of marine church and his small band of 22 marine ...and the 20th century;s 'Rourke's drift'....
