I joined a lecture of Don Walsh in Nyon at the Museum du Leman where they've a
wonderfull permanent exhibition of the Piccard family, a must see if you're around.

Surprisingly the museum has the DeepSeaSpecial that was given to Jacques Piccard
Rumour the nice conservatrise told me was that, one example was attached on the
Triest, one was inside the sphere on the wrist of Piccard and one example was at
Rolex HQ so after the succesfull dive Rolex could compare the 3 examples in detail.

It was having a low number on the caseback....

Sir Edmund Hillary's Rolex....

finally together!!

Don Walsh told me where it was attached...

Interesting testing / demo stuff was displayed also...

Absolutly worthwhile visiting, it's 15 minutes with the train from Geneva!

Was he still wearing his GMT-Master? I think I heard that he sold it. Wonder what he replaced it with

They made it seem like THIS is the actual watch that was strapped to the Trieste. But who knows...

Of course, I scroll from top to bottom and saw your other post a bit later. Another excellent read. Thanks.

So can you clarify....which one was strapped to the outside of the Trieste? Number 22?
