I have seen a lot of 1019s hanging around at dealers' web sites for a long time.
Have 1019s lost their desirability at the present time or are the dealers' prices too optimistic ?
they are more scarce then ever..and the prices are sky high if you find one in top shape with all the right bits.
As for me they are a neat watch to collect, and do not turn up frequently with the 100% complete components such as, the iron caliber plate, movement shield, and with the correct "M" caliber.

I have seen one for sale with an 833**** serial number.
Thanks

in real life they just don't quite do it! I recently held a few, they are a bit 'flat'??
Strong money though.....they just don't sell
Comex, and Mill Sub then..It comes too how much $ one thinks is is to much.. The PN, Big Crown, Comex, Mill Sub and non PN Daytona's are all strong money and don't sell if your perception is correct.
I guess it must depend on a dealer's customer base then.

Two dealers, both guys I would call friends. They sell a lot of nice, high end watches - Cx, Mil, PNs et al.
They've both had 1019s on their sites fro a loooong time! The Cx, Mils etc all 'fly off the shelves'!
The 1019 will have its day again though
in the USA is, the same, PN, Comex, Mils, and etc are being packed up at the end of the second day of the IWJG shows going back in the FED EX boxes they came in getting ready for the next show.
In my opinion the ultra high end exotic vintage Rolex are slow movers, always has been. A dealer needs a certain client who will pluck down 30-100 K for the aforementioned watches. The same buyers for the PN, Comex are 10 to 1 the same buyers for the 1019. So Ross my impressions are very dissimilar to yours. I actually know all the prominent vintage dealers in the USA, and follow what is moving and what is staying in the glass cases.
The under 20 K Rolex vintage are the movers with this economy, not the high end exotic stuff. They were as always sold to the select few... taking it's time finding new homes.
