I have the following loose Rolex and Tudor guarantee certificates in my collection, and would be delighted to reunite a watch with its original paperwork.

If you have a Rolex or Tudor watch which you think I may have the papers for, please e-mail me with the full serial number and model reference, and I will confirm if the paperwork matches.

I was discussing this great altruistic idea which Mr. Wood has kindly offered, with a member from another forum who has been in this horology game forever.
I asked him of whether he would like to participate and apread the news to others that he knew so that a big database could be acomplished.  He was thrilled at first with the idea, but also mentioned to me that he had been a victim of a replicated guarantee paper amongst some of his watch collection. He said that it was indistinguishable from any paper you would get in any rolex package, especially with how it was aged.  I aksed how he came to conclude such a shocker and told me that he found another guarantee paper of similar condition with the same serial number, many years later by pure accident, so lightening can strike once at two different places.  I was dumbfounded as it is not only the watches that they are forging but papers too!!!!! Seens like that criminals have no limit to scams!!!  Looks like my dream of ever finding my papers has both the odds and the Gods against me as I have to first find my missing papers (if they are still in existance in someone's junk papers) and then investigate the authenticity of them.  C O L (crying out Loud)!!!!!

...IMHO there exist no perfect faked papers - but genuine papers without serial number, and these become altered by crooks by fulfilling/stamping/punching/dating to match a specific watch.

If the paper itself has been genuine (respectively showed all properties of a genuine paper) your friend has come by a such one.

Another (but unlikely) possibility is a wrong fulfilled paper.

Greetings,
Xeramic

likely and Yes, I am inclined to go with your first suggestion. I often see, even on ebay un- puched papers and blank papers with nothing but the way they would have come off the printing press. I guess that by fake papers, it is genuine papers with faked serial numbers. At least my fellow member has one authentic one amongst the two he has unless (unilikely) both are clones.
Thanks for your response!!!!
