Really had to rub my eyes twice in order to believe what I was seeing. Been staring at it for a while now. What a find!!! Any additional history on this watch would be more than appreciated.

Thanks for sharing K. And what a return to the table...mind blowing...

In these times one cannot buy cheap or a bargain at an auction due to the internet and the fact that collectors are far more knowledgeable than in the past. which is a good thing.

There are only on a few occasion when the above theory goes out the window:-

-when a watch comes up that no one has seen before.

-when the auction house messes up the condition report.

-When the competition are a sleep or arrive late (very very rare).

This 6200 was listed in the sothebys auction dated April 2008, and the auction house put out a horrendous condition report that frightened off all the private buyers and most of the dealers. I felt sorry for the consignee. On that particular auction they had 3 great Rolex watches on offer. A 6538 4 line tropical (I was the under bidder), the 6263 Albino (I was the under bidder) and this most amazing 6200 with a bonus of a mint Milgauss insert.

after examening every part of the watch (completely stripped down bare), I was in a state of shock. It was totally original.

This watch needs to be in Auros 100 best Rolex watches.

best,
K
