Makes a typical GMT pop a little.. A rainbow of colors can be had for the GMT..the days of the boring all black or blue and red GMT inserts are over with.. Think of the analogy of new hot rims for your car..but for your GMT.

Weren't they made for the two-tone GMT in the 1970's 1675/3 and gold GMT 1675/8?

They seem to be around, not common, but around. The first watch in the dial archive for a 1675/3 has one.

The gold fades before the bronze. Happens on 16618 16808 bezels too.

for something that's going to be rather unique and hard to come by (assuming original Rolex is wanted).  Why not just dip your current insert in curry sauce, cheap fix ?

The fade is true for the Gold insert versions..But the bronze inerts are with siver fonts..If you look at the bronze insert..it is new with no fading..And they were made for the TT SS GMT..I also believe that they came on the all SS GMT as well.

Now below the true all gold font inserts...not the same..

some of the prices being asked for just normal 'faded' inserts have been rather amusing recently...

Tandoori or Korma?

if people want collectable parts..then so be it..
Price is dictated by demand..
