I bought this a few months ago as part of a lot

I thought at that time that it was a re-engraved RSC replacement case

Case looks genuine enough to me. Only the numbers between the lugs look too good to be true, but that is no certainty just because they are so clean. The wear on the case and the damgae are consistent with a case of this age and with regular use. Fakes are not so much a thing of the past, they are more a thing of the present, and they don't tend to get used like a regular watch because nobody really wants a fake, and once one is discovered, it generally comes out of use. I would be too ashamed to wear one, so I doubt that you would ever find one this beat up.

counterfeit. The clue to me is how it is cut around the crown tube as viewed from the backside. It should be "V" shaped and is not, but cut like the other counterfeit cases from that "forbidden" website.

Can you show a picture of the inside of the case back also ? This is not so easy to tell by pictures alone anymore as perfect replica (FAKE) cases with perfect engravings have been around for over a year now. You have to have them in your hand and then its easier. Its either a 100% fake case or not. As for re engraving this is what some scammers are doing now with papers from another watch in order to sell for more money with papers.
