Dear All ,

Who has ever see a "Civilian" 5510 with a military caseback ???

Here is a scan of the case back 'sorry for bad quality)

the watch is from I.1958 .

The dial is the "civilian" 5510 dial. the "200m=660 ft" has turned to a black color but it is fun
to see because it is a little in relief.

I found this link in VRF :

http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/m ... out+A-6538

and the caseback engraving is exactly the same of the picture number 2 :
2) followed by a 6 digits number

Mine is also starting by 145xxx.

Thanks for your helps .

My picture was made with a scanner , thats why it is disturbed

I showed the engraving here to a estimeed vintage dealer and
he told me the engraving is ok and old but he doesnt know
if such a watch has a ever existed.

Anyway that was not my question , i asked if you know if
civilian 5510 with military caseback has ever existed ????

there also something which is perturbing me ,
why someone would make a fake engraving for
a watch that never existed , it would be very easy to know
that it is fake , you see what i mean ? if you see a a 6263
with "daytona" in blue for example , you kknow it is not possible.

Thank you for you helps .

Yes of course , but it needs a big
amount of knowledge for adding a
military engraving to a civilian 5510.

and the seller sold it to me at a low
price , less that a regular 5510 ....
