Err...It has a correct case...n matching S/nos.:

Inside its Caseback cover is engraved with matching Case Ref...
n Full S/nos.:

?t=1316940270

Outside of Caseback cover is engraved in Arabic Scripts:

On the outside of Caseback teeth path...
has the one Tiny Hole between its thread teeth:

This watch has probably been through quite some actions...
1st time Orchi sees the Crown appearing this way...

Besides for example the known FAP Military watches...
(possibly 1680 Sub commissioned for Marine Helicopter Pilots)
Are there any other similar 1680 Submariner or other watches commissioned...
for Military usage by other countries...
having the similar features of Rolex engraving of Full S/nos...
inside the Caseback...n Rolex engraving on the outside of Caseback...
(Arabic Scripts in this case)
having the Tiny Hole...?

Your advise is much appreciated...

Best regards
Orchi.

Err...including the presence of the matching case Full Serial Nos....
n Model Ref. Nos...n the special feature of Tiny Hole drilled...
on its Caseback similar to the many known DRSD/Comex models...
n those rarely seen on the other MilSub/FAP/Arabs/UK Asprey watches etc etc...
produced by Rolex...

Additionally on the inside of this particular 1680 CB...
there are a couple of known RSC service engraving marks...

Thanks again for your comments...

Best regards
Orchi.

piece. These are generally not military but probably commemorative in nature. Any scans of the dial?

Err...recognizable factory engravings of full S/nos. inside...
n engravings on the outside of Caseback...
n neither do those have the factory Tiny Hole...
with the exception of the known Omani(Asprey) Rolex watch...

This particular ME Mil 1680 has NO Logo on Dial...
n all similar features of the known FAP(Fuerza Aérea del Perú - Peruvian Air Force) watches with NO Logo on Dial...also.

Thanks for your kind comment...

Best regards
Orchi.

DRSDs also have similar engravings on the insides of casebacks but they aren't military issue. Generally, issued military pieces also have issue numbers as with Mil Subs. It would be interesting if you could get someone who reads arabic to translate? And regarding the Omani sea-dwellers, I don't think you could call them issued 'military' pieces either. Presentation watches by the military - yes.

Eugene

Err...Arabic Script...

Yes the DRSD were available to the Public...
whilst some were used for experimental...
n Comex watches were for the commercial diving company...

The known FAP Military watches do not possess the Military Ref either...
unlike the UK MOD Mil Sub watches...

Some might say the last Arabic Script could mean "shop" or "store"...
but Orchi was told it could also mean "property"...

In any case...the known Army/Navy Exchange or PX watches or NAAFI watches...
would not have the engravings inside out n without the Tiny Hole...
on Casebacks...

Anyway...there is still no firm indication yet regarding...
the origin of nationality for which Middle East countries had used this watch...

The search continues...

Best regards
Orchi.

To the left of the script?
Service number perhaps?
Or are my eyes deceiving me?
Nice piece btw, well done.
Colin.
