I certainly don't know the answer to this question, as in my years of collecting I have not bought watches on the basis of papers and have found it quite hard in any event to find papered watches from before the 1980s.

So my question to the more "professional" or experienced among us is this: in all your hunting, how many older Rolex from the punched paper era have you come across with punched papers but that are not dealer stamped/signed, which might also include no country code?

Thanks in advance,
Tom

I have bought several dozen(set)watches throughout the years back when you could buy them for the price of what boxes are going for these days. There is no evidence about the 5 or 6 dot theory as mine have both.

Err...perhaps the Mod may not approve of this posting...
IF so...please delete at free will...

This one looks similar to the previous alleged 570.01.300 Guarantee paper in French...

No punched nos...

This other one is 572.01.300 Guarantee paper in French...same signature.

Punched 4x7 dotted...(could this be unique to Ref 1803 only??)

Here are some varieties of Punched Guarantee papers...with 4x6 Dots...4x7 Dots...
n a 4 digits but instead having Punched 4x5 Dots(Guarantee paper for Cellini models)...
with or without Chronometer certification.

Here are few more of Guarantee papers with close S/nos. range having Punched 4x6 Dots...
n some with not too far S/nos. range having Punched 4x6 Dots...

These with 4x5 Dots Guarantee Papers however go without mention...
where they might have came from...err...mostly from eBay.

Some pics are quite blur...so not sure also if the papers have 4x5 Dots or not...

when i bougth here in sweden from pawn shops or original owner they are always dated or stamped

only time i have gotten "open/blank" punched papers is from other dealers and as i said very few (seem to recall a couple of 1675's from SG that where blank but this was when nice fullset's where under 3 k euro and "lose" watches allways came with added boxes and manuals if requested)

also i recall some watches with US papers that where sort of "open" but all where pre printed with serial and jeweler and none from the 70ths, just 80ths and 90ths watches

cheers

Most "combos" that I have seen with punched papers do not
hav the AD's stamp - open without name or date as well.
