I have been collecting Rolex for 20 years but I have never had a COMEX and I am thinking about buying at the end of this month or soon after.
I can spend between £20,000 (approx $31,000) and £40,000(approx $62,000).
What would this get me collector to collector rather than from a dealer? what does a 5514 with original caseback but non logo dial go for? What would you buy? would you buy with only the 119 papers and divers log? etc
Many Thanks in advance

The answer is probably an essay in and of itself....

but generally in your price bracket ....less than top drawer plastic model or perfect set saphire

plastic

5514/3 non logo ..20k ish.
5514/3 service logo dial ..25-30k ish
5514 matte logo shitty or damaged dial 40k ish (but remember the matte logo dial on say a big number is the difference between it being a 40k watch and a 80k watch !!!

1665 610m dial ....30-40k

sapphire

16600 full set 35-40k

16800 10 year presentation -40k ish ...

16610 full set ...25-30k ish...

mostly stick to original papers if you go with a saphire model...its expected.

plastic glass models generally dont have original papers..so dive provenance is nice especially if combined with service papers/rolex letter....
