Hello,

I just signed up to the vintage rolex forum, but have been an avid reader for years!
After a very long search, I finally found and bought my favorite watch ever.
I bought it from a retired industrialist that had it for years.
He found it in the US back then.
Almost too good to be true!
Let me know what do you think of it? Does she look strange?

Best,

Vincent

P.S.: That should mean that I do not like what I see.... I do not like the dial and the case either....

From what I can see the dial is an Asian redial so the plate is not genuine, fake hands, fake bezel and insert and crystal and with more pics we can tell you if your case is genuine.

Thank you for your comment!s Even if negatives
I asked 2 vintage rolex experts here.
One said that the dial, the 1030 mvt and the case were genuine he couldn't confirm anything about the insert.
The other one said that it was in a too good shape and "just" had doubt.
And didn't bought it cheaply not a "too good deal to be true" was more a "too good origin to be true"
Adam, sorry to bother you with that but how can you tell that it is an asian redial, fake hand (they have been serviced and slightly polished)

I can tell because I have lots of experience. I couldn't find a 4 line dial on the Asian site just now but here is yours compared to a few 2 line dials they sell,, focus on the font they are a match. I was able to tell at first glance, it's easy once you know what to look for..

ask all these questions BEFORE you pay for something from an old guy who bought this years ago.
even old guys can be scammers, and this one surely is

Thank you Adam for your time and educated comment!
I see exactly what you are saying. However I am seeing on a lot of rolex books and vintage rolex website also the same font.
The same B, R and O.
Space between letters etc
I'll continue my research and will see another specialist in Germany for my watch before returning it.
Thanks again!

+1. Most definitely a refinished dial from Vietnam.
