2.6 mil red sub meters first ... is this possible?

Dowling has a nice meters first red sub with 2.6 serial number on his site. Is it possible that meters first Mark 2 were on that late of a serial number. His comes with punched papers: http://www.ukwatches.com/shop/?wpsc-pro ... hed-papers

Ive a mk2 Brown 26xx ..with caseback 1-70 instead 4/69.

Considering the very tight serial # range of the meters first red subs it's unlikely but still possible.
All 3 MK's overlapped and were done and dusted inside 12 months (1969).
Nothing is cut and dried with these models and exceptions do pop up.
