Just got this Day-Date and am curious if anyone has seen anything like it before:

The engraving apparently means:

Arab American Oil Co. 30 Years Service Presented To: Ahmad Khazem Alkhalife 1974

The case back is rounded and has the full serial number engraved inside....

Cheers,

Nick.

I have never seen such a sign in Arabic dedicated to work.

Other question the Sigma dial , beautiful and rare .

Compliments for the Day Date .

Err...the company has a very rich history...

Those engravings are of 100% Rolex origin...
including the presence of the "Tiny Hole"...
on the rear...n the engraved Serial Nos. in Full...
inside of the Caseback cover...

What an awesome dial it has too...
Good catch Buddy Nick...!

Best regards
Orchi.

I've only ever seen one other round case back the same as this before this one.

Usually very early ones have a flat back with shallow return (like my WG) and after that they are flat back with deep return (like my PG) This latter is by far the most common.

Nice watch!

Steve

Rolex only did this on watches where they knew the customer in advance

The dial is better in reality I find! Lovely texture to it!

And as for the hole, I only just noticed that! Does that mean it was engraved by Rolex? I have only ever seen this on a DRSD and COMEX before....

Cheers,

Nick
