After thinking about "Sea Kitty" more, I think that he was not dumped
off at the ship but as a typical tom cat, just wandered away from home
and ended up at the ship. Tom cat are always wandering away for days
and sometime weeks at a time. I imagine that cats people are worried
sick about him. He probably lives within 4-5 miles of the ship. As
typically cats will roam about this distance from home. Check with
the local newspaaper and see if they have a lost and found page and
check it out. I am sure someone will be real happy to know where
their cat has gone. I have had tom cats wander off and be gone for
over a month before showing back up, bedragled and happy to be home.

Good point Bob,
I had a Garfield colored Tomcat that left home one day and showed up a month later about 5 pounds lighter.

Sorry, Bob (Wilder)- but this cat was dumped - I saw the people do it very early the other morning while I was just coming up the gangway into the parking lot (taking 'Sea Dog' Ella for her morning constitutional). Too far away to get a license number - but definitely saw them drop the cat out of the car.
As Bob Pointer said - 'he' is a small male orange tabby - super friendly and often 'talkative'. He follows people out in the parking lot to their cars, comes down into the gift shop (hopped up on a chair next to a lady while she was watching our film), has followed people halfway down the gangway. Also spends part of his day hanging out with the outside patrons at the fish restaurant (he's not stupid). Hopefully - someone will take him in. I will check for claws.

OK about being dumped. I would like to dump a person who dumps an animal
way out in the middle of no where with no foor or water and see how they
like it. Still think it would be nice to have an "official mouser" for
the ship. Sounds like this cat would fit in fine. Being a great talker,
he would fit with all the great talkers we have aboard. Keep us posted
on the outcome of the cat.

One of the waitresses at the Tin Fish took Sea Kitty home with her - the restaurant owner was getting antsy about the cat visiting the patrons while they ate - so she took pity.

Joey's New Kitty smells a bit peculiar!

Joey's New Kitty says Hello, gives new meaning to "Say it, Don't spray it."
