Is the strength and weather tightness of a garage door best in a vertical or a horizonl position? Did the board approve the installation of this type of cover for the elevator? A few more additions of this type and the 325 will look like a Chinese junk.

It cost more than $500 so the Board had to approve it. On the other hand I don't really care for it myself. The Chinese do have a 542 Class LST and it doesn't look near as good as ours!

The garage door over the elevator was OKed by the 2005 or 2006 BOD.

According to a board member I talked to yesterday I am correct. Also I have a 16X8 foot vertical garage door, almost new, and it leaks when the wind and rain blows hard from the North.

not so
Come on Sid or cophan, who's your beef with? Garry, your son, and Kenny Adams were on the ship most of the time when that cover was installed, both are board members and both were aware of and possibly helped with the installation. Boats had been seeking a solution to the water problems on the tank deck as the deck on the starboard side was rusting very badly. Conversations regarding some kind of a cover went on for months. If Garry and Kenny knew of the cover and Boats was looking for a solution, it's common sense the board was aware of the cover. From what I could see, the installation is not a "permanant" installation and does not interfere with the structural authenticity of the ship.
