The WW II Cobra King M-4A2 Sherman tank painting on the LST-325 tank deck. Cobra King was the name of the most famous tank of WW II. Battle of the Bulge 26 Dec. 1944 Cobra King was the first of General George S. Patton 4th Armor Division tank into Bastogne to relive the 101st Airborne Division. After WW II Cobra King set at the gate of a U.S. Army base at Vilseck Germany. I set their rusting till 2008 when the serial number was sent to Patton museum fort Knox to be ID. It was found to be the famous WW II Cobra King and was shipped to Patton museum Fort Knox for restoration. As a Patton museum volunteer doing a great many restoration project for the museum. Cobra King was the last tank restoration project I help with, it took two years to get it done. Cobra King got to WW II Normandy beach by a LST, we will never know if it was aboard the LST-325. But to day we have a full size painting of Cobra King on the LST-325 tank deck. It will help tell the story of the WW II greatest generation and the LST-325 WW II mission. Take care. SARGE

Sarge:
Thousands of people will get to see your artwork that honors the Cobra King. I think we need to write up the history of that tank and put it somewhere close to the painting so that people will know how special that tank was. While we can't have the actual Cobra King we certainly can honor it with this display.
Thanks again for all the hard work, Sarge. Your efforts are appreciated by the crew and the tens of thousands of folks who get to tour the ship and see your work. Your work on this and other projects certainly further the mission of the ship and reflects on you as a dedicated and valued volunteer.

Great job!
