3.Ask finnish players rent some costume and roleplaying
(They may buy some clothes for children for birthday presents, and ask them to contribute)

lol - we used to have many pictures from an old live roleplaying session (and some people always got amused by them, I don't know why :D To sidetrack, in Finland we have many groups doing live roleplays in a rather artistical and serious manner - two weeks before the event each player receives like ten pages of text, describing the background, the personality and the aims of the character to be played; and also that character's relations with other characters. And then some general background information for everybody. People but a lot of energy to preparing their characters, and some people who have been doing a lot of it have become like talented amateur actors, effectively creating the atmosphere and drama of a fictional reality. I've seen people weeping and laughing in LARP sessions, having a collective immersive experience which generates a lot to talk about. So, for many larpers in Finland it is really a form of art. Yet there are many people who don't know that much about larping and they see it as purely childish thing to do. But for me it is more like a movie you can yourself take part in - a form of art which can be used for good entertainment or serious dept-psychological drama, or anything in between, and often a good mixture of humour and serious themes.)

Oh well, oh well. That was more than ten years since. And I see many of those people are still actively in the live roleplaying scene. They have yearly events with viking and iron-age theme.

So, it is more a case of disorganization from my side that we haven't yet arranged a new "let's take a portrait"-meeting with these good people doing iron age larps. We have some up-to-date pictures sent by them, but it would be super fun to arrange a proper live meeting just for purposes of taking tons of in-game pictures.

Still needed, there's always room for more pics. So just go ahead with the portrait, thanks in advance. You can drop me e-mail if there's something else to ask, or then just follow the general instructions and e-mail the pic when done and we'll continue from there on.

so to get things right before i do this,

you need a natural background (so no modern stuff in the pic)

you need a time-accurate clothing set

you need a region-accurate person (so no victorian age moustache)

now, i have a "huscarl helm", modern reproduction of a viking-age helmet, do you want a pic with that to?

All the information appears in the first post of this thread. Here's the snippet of the most important things:

---------
Guidelines:

As we know the game takes place in Iron Age Finland so you dress in linen, fur, wool etc. Aiming for historically authentic pictures is possible and enjoyable for some, but there's also plenty of room for imagination and artistic freedom. Every portrait is a good portrait for as long as it fits the setting. There can be foreign traders and crazy loners who dress a bit more unexpectedly. Various inventive props can be used to come up with good looking caps, veils, cloaks, shirts, staves, clubs, sacks, or whatever your character is wearing, wielding and carrying. Scandinavian, northern, finnish nature background is preferred, but you can also use your imagination and take a picture using some universally suitable background such as sky, water, fire, etc.
---------

You can use your huscarl helm in the pic, or then not to use it. It's up to you, we don't like to give too strict orders, and you have the artistic freedom. Taking few pic variations is good, so we can selected the one that looks the best.

when the weather clears up a bit i'll see for a few pics with, and a few without. there is a forest nearby that should be a perfect setting

in summer there is a re-enactment event nearby, maybe i can get some really good pics there to. but that's still far off.
