I dream of a summer update with a surprising set of features, and a long proper holiday for myself after the release. I reveal the surprises to be expected as we proceed and now it's time to let you know that we'll be featuring young animals. This goes for wild animals at first, but depending on how the workflow goes it might be possible to initiate animal husbandry even in the summer release. (That's not a promise, though.)

But this is to happen at least:

Code: Select all

 - added: young animals

Cubs and calves have been added for few relevant wild animal species - elks, bears, reindeer and hares.
In case of large species ie. elks and bears, the young ones usually follow their mothers in the wild for
a full year after the birth. So, now you may occasionally encounter an elk mother wandering together with
her calf, or a bear mother followed by her cub. Mother animals may act more unexpectedly or aggressively than
usual when they're still taking care of their young ones -- and that's especially true in case of bears.
Few screenshots - the adventures of fghfg among cubs and calves ;)

Bear mother with its cub. Careful now. You don't want to position yourself in between those two.

Ooo.. isn't that sweet... not a hunting day today.

This could be a good day to utilize your squirrels hides.

Will the young animals be easier to take down? If you're threatened by starvation, and in no condition to chase down adult elk...

This is gonna be interesting.

Will there be a gradual growing up process? I noticed that there are small, normal, and large adult animals currently. Will calves have different sizes? Will they grow into different sized adults? Can a small calf grow into a large elk? Or vice versa?

Can't wait to see a herd of reindeer with a half dozen calves in tow.

Would it perhaps be possible to tame reindeer calves?

Could we domesticate the cubs? It would be lovely to domesticate a bear then on his 3rd anniversary to get eaten by him.

This update looks awesome. Awwwwwwwsome!

PS: Missed the previous post, but I will keep mine too, cause it would be really nice to get eaten but your own personal bear.

Exactly what I was thinking too :D Catch several squirrelitos ( squirrel kids ) and grow them as my personal warrior squirrels to conquer the red zone.

Young animals? Like baby deer? I know Homer Simpson would love that as much as I do.

I like pizza, I like bagels
I like hot dogs with mustard and beer
I'll eat eggplant
I could even eat a baby deer
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, la, la
Who's a baby deer on the lawn there?

Sorry. I'm a Simpsons junkie. Seriously though, this is awesome and I can't wait!
