It's march/northward equinox and here in the north we head towards the light.
The last release is still warm, but we look and head towards future updates as well.
Not too concrete idea of the next big things but I'm kind of keen of keeping focus in planned development goals. One of listed things is harvesting bones and antlers from carcasses, and I've started with antlers. It still doesn't feel all too necessary to me, but has been asked a lot and now will be done at last.

Male elk and both sexes of reindeers have antlers which can be harvested from carcasses. For now, antlers simply appear on the ground when the carcass has been completely butchered for meat. Antlers appear as tools but have no special usage on their own. They merely serve as trophies and as a new raw material to be utilized via modding if you like.

It's nice to fill out the materials [tags] recently added for Antler / Bone.

A pile of bones and antler(s) where appropriate would be really good I think.
No idea on weight of leavings.

Indeed. I think antlers mostly come to fulfill modders imagination and creativity as the usage would be in decorative items, knife handles and the like.

Weights of the antlers and bones?
I think an "average" elk antler could be around 4 lbs, reindeer antler maybe around 1.5 lbs. If needed I can get proper measure as there's quite a collection of elk and reindeer antlers and bones in my closet.

If it's UW immersive and it is easy to diverge from the antlers job, animal head trophies would be cool too to hang on the walls. Although this can be accomplished through modding.

Carcass remains after butchering that attract scavengers and naturally rot, eventually leaving only bones. Although this is now achieved with Buoidda's mod.

Bear teeth before boar tusks. :) (But I'm pretty sure I'll actually end up adding the bear teeth as well.)

Head trophies feels a bit too modern and disrespectful to me... (but bear skulls to be hanged in pine trees to assure circulation of the bear spirit and to maintain the sacred relationship between the bear and the man is actually something on my to-do list.)

That's why I said if it does not break immersion. Maybe other types of heads too? Related to shamans? For the same spirituality reasons?

We'll see. Many skulls have been considered "magical", but I try to avoid sidetracking too much just yet before completing things at hand first.

Antlers have are used in doing a lot of fine work in flint knapping, perhaps add an optional component to the stone knife recipe for antler? This should allow the potential of a masterwork stone knife, flint knives can be as sharp or sharper than iron based implements, this might make a masterwork stone knife on par with a standard knife or similar.

I've seen it mentioned by several in the forum that flint is not readily found in Finland.
