...Peterborough up 10-8 in the third and the refs kick the scorekeeper out. 10 minutes later a replacement can't be found so the game is called. by the look of it Lakers got the victory. strange ending...cheap victory...great game up to that point back and forth the whole game.

there was a big brouhaha at the penalty box and all of a sudden the timekeeper left the box and walked out of the arena. no explanation was given. lots of disgruntled players and fans. just a sad way to end a game with 8 minutes left.

btw...chiefs looked good in this game. its going to be a tough playoff run this year with brooklin, lakers, brampton and chiefs all very close.

The issue. The ref ordered the timekeeper to close the penalty box door. The timekeeper said, "no, it wasn't his job."

The ref said, "You're out."

The ref gave Six Nations 5 minutes to find a new timekeeper. None available. Game called.

Egotism run mad!! Who penalizes the ref's for this one.

My personal opinion on this is that the player(or their team) should be responsible for shutting the penalty box door on the way in or out. Officials(on the floor or in the timekeepers box) have a job to do and really shouldn't be taking their eyes off the game. Too many times you see a player enter the box and wait for someone else to shut the door because they are pissed off or run out of the box and the door stays open, meanwhile his team's bench staff is a few feet away and don't bother closing the door. I'd like to see a 10 minute misconduct called for not shutting the door.

Each team should provide a person in the penalty box every game throughout hockey lacrosse etc.

According to Rule 4 each team can have a person in the penalty box provided they are a carded member of the team.

Bizarre. Who were the refs?

How do we promote this as a high level when things like this happen? Should the ref even have the power to kick out an off-floor official?
