No sandbagging involved
Cambridge was undefeated all season and playoffs and provincials
It was a well earned medal don't undermine the kids effort

watched cambridge play in milton and in clarington
knew they were going to blow through their division
coaches play smart and take advantage of other team weakness
lots of strong kids on that team, strongest i saw was this weekend
last 2 tournaments watched their top 5/6 players get run over repeatedly
they move the ball better than any B/C tyke team i have seen
best goalie in tyke by far
probably one of the most confident teams in tyke they play to WIN
parents are over the top loud
saw scout talking to their parents at game 1

Yeah, included in that undefeated season is beating good B rated teams and regularly running over C teams. Absolutely they are a good team but they should have been a B team this past weekend. Given the way they played, they'd have advanced at least to the quarter finals in B. If properly rated (unless in A), no team should win all their games after the round robin like Cambridge did.

They only had one good player and a goalie. They would have went 1-2 at best in B.

Just shows the difference in skill level from the top of a division to the bottom.

I agree, they had an excellent goalie that saved their asses in every game. They would have been ripped apart in B.

For sure there can be a big differece in skill between the top and bottom of a level, but having an incredible goalie and top player is reason enough to bump a team into a higher rating. Take my kid's team for example. They were an average C team. Given the fact that the team is primarily made up of 7 year olds, an argument could have easily been made to have them compete in D where they'd have likley been in the final 4 mix. After assessing the final ratings, it was quite obvious to anyone who paid attention that Cambridge was going to run away with it, which they did. Sure they'd have been a weak to average B team, but a B team nonetheless.

not a good excuse for their cake walk through the provincials. people don't want to use this criteria during ratings so it shouldn't be used as an excuse to downgrade their easy trip through the provincials. at rating time people only want to use scores. using the same criteria here, the scores, they indicate that this team should have been rated higher.

Wow did you guys actually watch the games? Cambridge and Kahlawake BOTH won all their games, isn't that how you make it to the finals? It isn't Cambridges fault that they were ranked C or did you forget that the OLA is the one that does the ranking, yes they were undefeated in the season and provincials and they played their hearts out and proved that they wanted to WIN !!! It is sad to see a bunch of parents call down a bunch of 7&8 year old kids just because they beat your kids team!

Laxguy just curious did you even watch the series what so ever? I'm sorry to say but the chiefs played a clean tournament and had clean hits the refs made the calls. There's no need to be a poor sport over a tyke league, these kids are seven and eight years old and don't need someone who is suppose to be an adult arguing over something so stupid. Negative comments are not welcome you can write them somewhere else. Thank you and have a great day.
