It appears the OLA has come up with a new way to establish minor teams ratings. Can anyone shed any light on this? I see "ranking" lists circulating for all the divisions. I have never seen these lists this early. It looks like a great idea to me.....the rankings are established before the individual zone "ratings" meetings even happen.

She:kon!

Are you referring to the Preliminary Ratings that are established at the beginning of the season?  These are, I believe, a submission from the MA's to the OLA to establish some sort of benchmark for the season.

These are "rankings" from the best team in Ontario to the worst. They have just been released. There are lists for every division from Tyke to Intermediate. Does anyone know the origin of these? They are even grouped into their potential divisions. They have been "floated" out there for feedback. They do need some work but I must admit I like the idea.

Thanks for sharing this. The Novice rankings seem a little messed up. Barrie 2 has game results but isn't in the ranking list.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of weird ratings here. The zone five teams (out here in the lacrosse hinterland) don't seem to be rated too well ... but I'm sure it'll all get sorted out.

Word is although they may have played some games and tournaments the rating coordinators have not received them(scores) as of yet and/or your zone has not forwarded them on to the right ppl--please encourage them to do so right away and hopefully our zone rating meetings can be cut in half and everyone can get a fair shake and positioned where they should be.

Oakville is even on the season with Orangeville and are ranked 6th. Innisfil only lost to Barrie by 2 goals and Innisfil has been dominant in their tournaments as have St Catherines. I know they have not played in necessarily the top tournaments but they have been strong and are rated B. Halton #1, Whitby #2 have struggled compared to the other two and should be a B.

Thanks for getting the lists out though. It is never perfect.
