The Green Gaels wrap up their regular season tomorrow night at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex when the Markham Ironheads (9-8) roll into town for an 8PM start.
The Gaels will enter the game with a record of 18 - 1, with the only blemish on their record being a loss to these same Ironheads earlier this season in Ajax. Since then, these two teams have met up once again, with the Gaels gaining the upper hand in a close 13 - 9 victory this past Sunday evening.
In what has surprisingly, and enjoyably, been a strong turn around season for the Ironheads, they will be looking to stop their late season slide in efforts to move back into the 6th place in the Eastern Conference, leap-frogging the Newmarket Saints who have been strong of late. The Ironheads have been led recently by the strong play of Dillon Strachan, who has 7 points over the last four games, and has been a strong leader both on and off the floor.
For the Gaels, Stefan Diachenko has been pouring it on over the last five games. He has put up 21 points over the last five contests, and is providing a strong offensive weapon on the right hand side of the floor for the Gaels.
Make sure you get out to our regular season finale, as it will definitely be one to watch. A desperate Ironheads squad will definitely be pushing the Gaels to the limit this night and if the previous two games are any indication, it will be a tight one. This is also your last chance to catch some Green Gaels lacrosse and help cheer them into the playoffs.
Tickets for this one are $7 for adults, $4 for students and seniors, while children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
Kids, don't forget to bring your helmet and sticks out to the game so you can go on the floor between periods!
