After dismissing the Mimico Mountaineers in three straight games in the first round of the playoffs, the Green Gaels Junior B Lacrosse Club have drawn the third seed, Halton Hills Bulldogs in the second round of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior B Lacrosse Playoffs.
Halton Hills finished the season with a record of 17 - 2 - 1, only a single point behind the Green Gaels. The South East Division champions were the only team to go unbeaten against the Green Gaels this season, tying the Green Gaels 7 - 7 at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex on May 17th, and defeating the Gaels 10 - 9 in overtime in Halton Hills on June 2nd.
This will mark the sixth year in a row that the Green Gaels have met the Bulldogs in the playoffs. The teams had traded victories in the playoffs, until last season when the Bulldogs broke that trend and defeated the Green Gaels in four games before losing to the Six Nations Rebels in the OLA Junior B Finals.
The best-of-five first round will open this Thursday, July 5th at 8PM at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville at the corner of Highway 2 and Regional Road 57.
Game two of the series will be played in Halton Hills at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex on the evening of Saturday, July 7th. Game time will be 7:30PM.
The series shifts back to Bowmanville on Tuesday, July 10th for game number three with an 8:00PM start at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex.
