Greetings,

At the last OLA Masters meeting Grady Robson presented this year's DOVE 2009 campaign which consists of a 37 hour charity lacrosse game, a huge silent auction and family fun fair day to make sure that there is something for everyone as we celebrate Canada's first National sport while supporting the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness (www.abusehurts.com) and the Spirit of the Stick (www.spiritofthestick.com) organizations.

As we approach the weekend (June 12 and June 13) we have noticed that a number of participants have not register or have informed us of their intentions. In fact, our current number of register participants is dramatically below last year's target at the same time before the campaign. You can appreciate that such events include a number elements which need to be establish well in advance to ensure that supplies, prizes, volunteers, etc acquired and deployed to provide a smooth running weekend.
In conjunction with a generous donation from a corporate sponsor, we have made the following adjustments to ensure you and your team mates participation in this event:

1. The incentive structure has been revised -http://www.laxdove.ca/DOVE2009Incentives.pdf
2. The registration deadline is May 29
3. We encourage you to bring a many friends, team mates and family to join you on the floor or volunteer.
4. Here is a firm schedule for the weekend -http://www.laxdove.ca/DOVE2009ERA.pdf

Finally, the success of any event like this is directly the result of your support! The only reason why we were able to raise $47,000 last year was because on your commitment to the project. We humbly request your assistance again this year.

Cheers,

Greetings,

We are excited to have you join a select group of individuals and volunteers who will participate in this community celebration of Canada's first national sport while raising essential funds for the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness (www.abusehurts.com) and the Spirit of the Stick (www.spiritofthestick.com) organizations.

In addition, to organizing the game we will be running a Family Fun Fair in the parking lot at the Aurora Community Centre on Saturday. NLL and other players will be available to sign autographs and take photos. We have a huge selection of items on the silent auction table for a wide variety of price ranges. Finally, included in the registration package is a certificate of participation, DOVE stickers, bracelet and Warrior Evolve2 head and shaft for those who have meet the suggested target levels. In addition your kit will allow them fee entrance to the Junior B game between the Saints and Rama Kings Saturday evening shortly after we wrap up the DOVE 2009 closing ceremonies.

I have included a few URLs which contain vital resource information for the DOVE 2009 event. To accommodate the last minute surge in registrations, we will formalize and post the final schedule this Sunday. Please keep in mind that you can play as much as you want but make sure to take the appropriate breaks for re-hydration throughout the course of the game.

We will electronically hit every media outlet in the province of Ontario. I need your need to spread the word to your local community of friends, family and neighbours as well!

To ensure that we have enough sticks and gloves ready at the arena for the registration, please drop me an email with your current pledge total by Tuesday June 9th. You'll have to register with the DOVE booth to receive your registration package, t-shirt along with your incentive prizes. You will leave a photocopy of your pledge sheet with us before heading over to the CCAA booth to submit your cash and cheques for your pledges. Both booths and the silent auction tables will be located upstairs in the auditorium. Gatorade, water and food will be available for all participants with DOVE bracelets.

Although are numbers are slightly lower than last year, I challenge each of you to dig deeper and secure those extra pledges. If you can't make it out this year, find a participant and support them through your pledge and/or silent auction bid. The success of this event rests on everyone's shoulders!
Cheers,

Jim
